Bukit nanas forest reserve - Canopy Walk at KL Forest Eco Park (Bukit Nanas Forest Reserve)

JungleBoy nrsching It depends if you walk fast or slow.

As you walk along the trail, you cannot help but notice that some trees are vibrantly green while some others are brown with decay.

At 10am, a security guard opened the gate and said that the gate would be open again at 12pm only based on the free tour schedule so we could only get out at 12pm.

However, the top half of the trail is still fine, and takes you past some large trees.

The first trail you can see branches off from this footpath, with its name clearly signposted โ€” Jelutong Trail.
Being relatively young a city, most of Kuala Lumpur's buildings date back to the late 19th - early 20th centuries, reflecting Mughal, Tudor, Neo-Gothic or Grecian-Spanish styles.

Previously known as Bukit Nanas Forest Reserve, this park is the only remaining stretch of tropical rainforest within the city limits of KL. It was gazetted as a permanent forest reserve in 1906 and at that time it had an area of 17.5 hectares.

The KL Forest Eco Park (formerly know as the Bukit Nanas Forest Reserve) was gazetted as a forest reserve in 1906 and is one of the oldest in Malaysia. Situated near the forest is one of the city's skyline icons, the Kuala Lumpur Tower, which was constructed with utmost attention being paid to the environment to ensure that the natural surroundings of KL Forest Eco Park remain undisturbed.

Bukit Nanas Forest Reserve. The tiniest forest reserve in Malaysia. And yes, it is actually real rainforest, a remnant of the original lowland dipterocarp forest that once covered this part of the Klang Valley. But, at the top of the hill, where KL Tower looms, I overheard a tour guide with his group.

The Bukit Nanas Forest Reserve is located near KL tower. You can take the KL Monorail to Bukit Nanas station where you can take a 10 minutes walk to the main gate at Jalan Puncak. From here, the free shuttle service at an interval of 15 minutes is available from 9:00am to 6:00pm for you to reach the tower.
